How long before your wedding are you going for hair/makeup trials? I would like to go about a month before the wedding to see how my hair will hold in the heat/humidity, but alot of people are telling me that I should do it at least 3-4 months before. What are you doing? I already know where Im going & who is doing my makeup, so its not a matter of who I need to book-its all about how my hair will hold!!!

Re: Summer brides
Janie, I have yet to go for my hair trial either. I may wait until I have something to go to or just go sometime in May.
I'm going to a salon the day of so its not too much of an issue.
As long as you know who u are booking & have an idea for the hair style you should be fine

Re: Summer brides
I had one trial already, and I am trying to book a 2nd for May.
I have a wedding and I figure I can get my hair done for that.

Re: Summer brides
I had my make-up trial but Im looking into hair as we speak...as long as you're not planning on booking the famous LIW vendros you should be fine with 1 month before...

Re: Summer brides
Technically, I am a summer bride (by what, 3 days?) but I haven't done anything about hair and make up yet. I think I am going with a low lying knot, trying to keep it loose, so any frizzing might not be as noticeable.
AND lots of hairspray. and hopefully a nice conditioning treatment a few weeks before, so it's less dry and less likely to frizz on out.

This is why I did mine so far in advance

Re: Summer brides
Technically i'm a spring bride... but I already knew who I was using about a year in advance and just did a trial last week... so about 3 months before!
I was planning on waiting until 2 months before, but couldn't wait to do a trial!!

Re: Summer brides
My hair trial is scheduled for this weekend. I haven't decided if I want up or or half up. But, I already reserved the vendor with a deposit because she is a LIW vendor and I have seen such great reviews of her work, I didn't have any doubts we would work out the right style.

Re: Summer brides
I had my hair and make-up trial at the end of february-- one person was already booked for my date-- I picked an updo that would be held with a lot of spray to prevent humidity from wrecking it. I may do another trial with her for the makeup before the wedding just to try something different when i have a real tan.
