As for tea length, the women in the bridal salon said if you are a really particular person, tea length is not a good idea because people are different heights and they will look like they are all different lengths in the pictures. Just something to think about. Personally, it wouldn't bother me.
I actually thought of that, & it would bother me, but we just didn't find any tea lenght I liked ( i'm not a summer bride though)

Re: Summer Evening Brides - quick BM dress poll
Since it's Summer, I'm going with a brighter color - Aqua blue (like the color above where the heading of the Liweddings site) and it's tea length, I love it, I wish I had a picture to show you all!!

Re: Summer Evening Brides - quick BM dress poll
I am a summer evening bride and I went with full length and the color black. Black was by request of my MoH and all of the bridesmaid. The dresses are georgette and light. The ceremony will take place outdoors and the reception is air-conditioned so they should be fine.
I went with full length to keep it formal, and light and dark b/c I couldn't make up my mind. you just would have to click on the half pink/half black box to see the right colors.

I did full length dresses in a chiffon material because it looked more 'flowy' and summery to me. THe color is amethyst with a lilac trim.
First is dress, second is color
i agree, i think the material is the most important thing to think about heat-wise. i picked my dresses for the same reasons you did, however my color is chocolate...
