Summer outdoor brides...advice please

Hi,

I am trying to find out if you have an outdoor wedding in the summer what type of cake should you get. Some bakers have told us fondant only, no buttercream, others have told us buttercream is ok. Please advise.

I've given outdoor parties before and have not had a problem with buttercream. It's the whipped cream that can spoil.

i have been told that fondant cannot be refrigerated-?

IMO, the cake will be kept cool most of the day up until then anyway- I wouldn't worry too much.

Plus, you could call some bakeries and ask them.

Good luck

Yeah, I've heard fondant cannot be refrigerated also. Buttercream could be until the big moment.
