sunburn remedies?

I've been using Aloe - any other great ideas? Anything that brings the red down a bit?

My scalp (where my hair was parted) hurts and my nose looks like Rudolph!

Re: sunburn remedies?

Dh and I got really bad sunburns while on our honeymoon. We were in A LOT of pain
Cool baths help take the heat out - lots of aloe! And tylenol. Not sure what takes away the red though. OUCH

definatly a cool bath. It helps soothe the heat of the sunburn.

Keep the aloe in the FRIDGE!!

It works so well when its cold. Its so soothing.

I have 3 in my fridge. (all are half fill too LOL)

I have Australian gold aloe freeze gel which I love

Banana Boat Sooth a caine

and some other aloe gel that is in spanish (we got it when we were in Mexico and FI was really badly sunburned so we went to a rite aid and got the gel. Good thing he knows spanish otherwise my luck I would have gotten him fake tan stuff LOL)

a bath won't help me unless my head's underwater! Its only my face and scalp.

Going to put the aloe in the fridge now...

I know this sounds like an overdose, but it won't kill you, I promise.
4 extra strenght Tylenol, and lots of water.

FEEL BETTER!

Re: sunburn remedies?

its definitely getting better - it must have been the tylenol (actually 2 ibuprofen and 1 aspirin). The redness has gone down. Drinking water now...

My hair looks SO purty with blue aloe in it!

Thanks girls

Re: sunburn remedies?

Oatmeal. Sounds silly, but it works. Mix regular oatmeal with water, or better yet-milk (whole milk if you've got it, or at least 1%, don't bother wasting it if it's fat free b/c it's the same as water). Put the paste on your sunburn like a mask, until it dries or is mostly dry, or until you get sick of it Then follow with aloe.

It'll work, and has long term benefits in that it'll reduce your chance of blistering buy a ton. I wouldn't tell you to do it for nothing, b/c I know it's a pain. One good thing though, it's good for your hair too
