I recently came back from South Beach and I am so sunburn! My face looks like its peeling off, has small blisters and hurts! I've been putting aloe gel on it like crazy. SHould I go to a dermatologist or does anyone recommend anything else to put on it? I'm getting married in 3 weeks and I'm freaking out. I've never really even had sunburn before. Any ideas? Thank you!!

Re: sunburn/sun poisoning?
If you can't goto a dermatologist, at least goto your regular doctor. Years ago I got sun poisioning, and went to the regular doctor. He was able to perscribe a zinc ointment that helped ease the pain, gave me steroids and a cortizone shot. (Since I had large blisters, if they popped I was very prone to infection with the large exposed areas of raw skin.)

I would def go to the dermatologist- you can never be too sure and with the wedding being 3 weeks from today I wouldnt risk anything- keep applying aloe in the meantime and i hope you feel better!

maybe you should go to the dermatologist if it seems bad. If you decide not to go, you should stay out of the sun and baby the skin on your face. moisturize and exfoliate after a few days.. feel better.

I used to work for a dermatologist....def go!!! They can give you a cortisone injection for the swelling and they'll give you cortisone cream and an antibiotic cream -- or a combination of the two.
It sounds a little gross, but cold whole milk really takes the sting out of a sunburn. We always told our patients this. I am VERY fair and swear by it when I get a bad burn. You can put the milk (whole milk is best-highest fat content) in a bowl in the fridge and then soak a washcloth in it and lay it on your face. I know it sounds nasty but it really works!!! Much better than aloe--actually the dermatologist I worked for said some people get more irritated from aloe.
P.S. I was in South Beach 2 weeks ago

Thanks everyone, wow, i would have never thought of cold milk. I will try to get to the dermatologist this week. The aloe does actually sting now that I think about it, I hope I'm not doing more harm than good! Its so weird, only my face burned the rest of my body got great color! At least I had a good time in SoBe! Thanks again

Go tot he dermatologist! Like BlazeSyth said, you could get an infection when the blisters break.

I had gotten a sunburn a few weeks ago .. not serious .. but a burn .. and aloe gel was not good for me .. it made my skin incredibly tight .. very annoying.
What worked great for me .. Vaseline Intensive Care - Aloe Cool & Fresh
