Sunday evening weddings

Sunday evening weddings

FH and I checked out our first reception hall yesterday. We were told that if we do the Sunday night before Memorial Day, it is considered Saturday night in terms of rates. Does this happen everywhere? Or just some places? Does anyone know places that do / do not consider Sunday before Monday-holiday Saturday night?

WOW! I haven't heard that. I knew I wanted it on a Saturday so I didn't even bother to find out the rate change from a Saturday to a Sunday

It's different from hall to hall. Some places charge you the lower Sunday rate, regardless if it's a holiday and some places look to take advantage of a holiday and charge Saturday rates.

I agree. We are having our reception on the sunday before columbus day. Most of the halls told us that they would be charging us saturday rates for that sunday. The three exceptions that said they would charge me sunday rates were : The Hamlet Windwatch , the swan club, and the woodbury country club. I think the watermill would also charge sunday rates, but I dont remember.

I am getting married the sunday before Memorial Day and my hall is charging us the sun. price becuse it is sun. not because the next day is a holiday and it feels like a st. night.
