Re: Sunday Night Girls
I'm not having a Sunday night wedding because I knew my Future in-laws would have that issue- but its ONE night. They can't deal with it for one night for a wedding? I think it is rediculous that people complain about that.
Sorry you have to deal with this especially since your wedding is a month away.
Tell them to suck it up for one night!!!

NOW they're complaining? It's not your fault they didn't realize it. Did you send save the dates? Then they have no excuse. I did Sunday in the summer so some people were already off and some people dind't mind taking a long summer weekend....I would've flipped if anyone said anything, especially my inlaws because they couldn't pay for anything and I couldn't afford a Sat. night. Honestly, even if you didn't send save the dates, invites are sent out far enough in advance for people to make arrangements. I wouldn't change the time. You have enough to deal with. Mine ended at 11pm. I was annoyed when some people left at 10 but the ones I cared about most, stayed the whole time. Do what works for YOU. Sorry this was soo long

Yes, i sent my STD's like a year before which i feel gave people enough time to realize it's a Sunday. My wedding ends at 11:30 and i know my friends and family will stay an celebrate till the end, as for the annoying people i really don't care if they leave early. I'm just annoyed that people have the nerve to complain or make comments, especially my FMIL asking us to change the time.

Re: Sunday Night Girls
My CH starts at 6:30 on a Sunday night. I haven't had anyone complain YET. I sent out my Save the Date's 9 months in advance. But I am sending out the invites this weekend so we'll see if anyone complains LOL. I really don't understand what the big deal is. Everyone is an adult and had plenty of time to make arrangements to either take off work, go in late, etc. I mean really its not like its over at 2:00 a.m We've all stayed up past midnight on a work night and still made it to work the next day with no problems. I'm glad I'm doing it on a Sunday.

Re: Sunday Night Girls
When I first told friends and family the wedding was a Sunday night I got a few faces but I don't care. People who want to attend will be there and if they want to go home early...bye! My wedding also ends at 11:30pm and a lot of my friends and family are talking about making my wedding weekend a long weekend taking Monday off. Here is the thing if you scheduled a wedding for a Friday night they would be complaining they have to work that day, take a day or leave early.. If it was a Saturday they would complain that it ends late or that they have to be ready to go to a wedding ruined their Saturday. People just love to complain period! Don't let those party poopers get you down.

Re: Sunday Night Girls
Sunday night wedding here too. We're starting at 6:30pm ending at midnight. . . So far no complaints but it's still early. I have been making a point to say to people 'It's a Sunday' when the wedding topic comes up just so they're not caught off guard, but regardless I figure they can deal. If they want to leave early, they can leave early, it's not going to impact on my night. I know the people closest to me will be there till the end.
We're even thinking about having an after hours jazz hour. People will be staying at the castle so they can just go upstairs and crash whenever. A close friend of mine was recently at a Sunday night wedding and he said no one left early and lots of people even stayed for the after party. I'm not worried, I think a lot of people would welcome a reason to take a Monday off work! I can't believe people would be so rude as to ask you to change the time of your wedding!

Re: Sunday Night Girls
ugh thats horrible that they are complaining now! i was a little worried when we booked a sunday night but guess what... it'll be over at 11:30 and this is a special occasion! the people who love you and the people who matter will be there till the end... so if they have to go to work a little tired the next day oh well... it's ONE NIGHT!!!

Re: Sunday Night Girls
Mine is also on a Sunday night and I'm worried about the complaints too but at the same time...the people that really are important will be there no matter what. We are doing a twilight 3-9pm...i think 9pm is more than early to end even if ppl have to drive home. Most of the out of towners are making a trip out of it so I doubt taking off Monday will be a big deal! I plan on sending save the dates and putting SUNDAY on them just in case!!
good luck!

Re: Sunday Night Girls
that really is crazy that people complain...like someone said in an earlier post, we have all stayed up late before work and it was fine, i guess some people cant handle their alcohol and dont want a hangover the day after, but thats their problem!
