Are you & FH/DH planning on joining bank accounts once married?
(I ask this b/c I have seen some chatter on other wedding boards where the women prefer to keep their own account b/c thne they can spend their money the way they want)
We are joining accounts - I just believe it's much easier to combine monies now that we're married to pay our mortgage, utility bills, etc...

We each have our own checking/saving accounts and we have a joint account. When we can we will create a second joint savings account.
We created our joint account right before our e-party because checks were written to both of us and we figured that money should be in our account.

we opened a joint savings and checking before we were married to start saving, but we both still have our own checkings where our direct deposit goes into...we just make sure we tranfer a certain amount each month enought for bills and saving...and then we are good...whatever leftover in our own accounts at the end of the month is ours to play with

We have joint checking and savings accounts now as well as individual checking and savings accounts.
I think we will continue to operate that way.

We'll probably both keep our checking because it's easier for direct deposit, but open a joint savings, or at least put each others names on our savings accounts. I'm going to be the one in charge of the bookkeeping and bill paying, so it will be easier if my name is on everything so I can transfer the funds as needed.
