Have you and FH figured out how you are going to split the holidays?

Re: Sunday QOTD
Good job this week Tracey :)
We were going to flip a coin for Thanksgiving, but my dad has cancer, so there is no way I'm not going to be with my family this year. We might end up just spending the holiday seperate. DH's family is up in CT, so going to one for dinner and the other for dessert just isn't feasible.
Otherwise, Christmas works out well. FH's family has a Christmas day brunch and then we go to my family's for dinner, which gives us more time to travel.

great job this week!
The holidays are usually very easy for us. FILs live in FL so most of the time we are at my family's. FILs come up for Thanksgiving but FH usually ends up working that day so I spend it with my family...

We are pretty lucky - IL's live in Fla so we really dont see them for the holidays. DH & I have been doing Thanksgiving at our house since we've lived together - this will be our 5th Thanksgiving but 1st as married couple! Then it's always Christmas at my parents (my mom always has a huge crowd of family come over) & Easter has kind of mellowed out - this is still my side of the family since DH's sister also lives in Fla, but it alternates every year between aunts & cousins.

Thanksgiving we alternate every year- one year his family one mine. This year it's mine. Christmas eve is with his family Christmas day with mine. And Easter is always my family.
We've been doing it this way for 8 years now and it works for us!

Re: Sunday QOTD
Its usually really sad for me because DH NEVER has off Christmas or Thanksgiving. Hes a prison guard so his has the suckkiest schedule. When it comes to Thanksgiving I usually plan dinner for us on a different day that he has off...but Christmas I spend without him
I do get to spend it with my family though...and for that I am grateful. I LOVE Christmas
