In all honest...I hate sitting through a whole mass (not to offend anyone) but majority of the time you are staring at the back of their heads.

I think 30 minutes is perfect

I don't think it's bad. It really depends if you were really set on having a mass. Plenty of brides only have the ceremony at church and not the full mass. My church only does a ceremony on Sunday too. I don't think it's a big deal..FH and I are getting married on a Saturday and we may end up just having the ceremony instead of the full mass...we still haven't decided.

Yeah, we're getting married on a Saturday when you CAN have a mass and we adamantly opted to NOT have a mass. I think it's fine, and I think your guests will appreciate it. You'll be fine with a ceremony on Sunday, don't worry.

They try to scare you because on Sunday vs Saturday there IS less time between weddings and masses and stuff and brides are known to be late, so they scare you out of being late to make sure your wedding doesn't conflict with mass (ie, collection baskets! LOL, J/K before I get yelled at, JUST KIDDING!)
They still get mad if you're late on Saturday but you only have weddings to contend with and probably one evening mass so it's not as crucial.

LOL, anyway, don't worry about it. Be on time, but don 't worry about it.

it's not bad at all. A lot of people only have a ceremony in a church and not the full mass. I am trying to feel out if not having a full mass is going to be ok with my grandmas. If they don't care than I am only doing a ceremony.

It's really up to you and your families. I would talk it over before deciding. Also, some churches will allow you to have a mass if you bring in an outside priest. Or if it's space, maybe you can have your parish priest have the mass in another church or chapel.

it's entirely up to YOU how important it is to have a mass for your big day
