Hi everyone. I am planning on getting married on a sat. night in Dec., but the BM at CLM keeps selling me Sunday. Its $20 less pp which saves me like $2,000. Should I go for it?
Thanks in advance for the advice

Re: sunday weddings
I think that a sat wedding in Dec won't be as much as a Sat in prime wedding season, but if money is a big issue I would go with whatever day will save you the most.

Re: sunday weddings
We chose to get married on a Sunday becuase it was cheaper. If you have your heart set on getting married on a Saturday and its in your budget don't let them persuade you. On the other hand if you can find something even better to do with that money that is great too!

Re: sunday weddings
For the most part I'm just worried about guests not being able to make it because they may have to work the next day. Is that stupid?
I was also wondering which time of day on sunday would be better.
Thanks for all your help ladies

Re: sunday weddings
How I see it is if your guests really want to be there they will come no matter what day it is.
Think about what you and your FH want first over what other people want, especially if you are paying!!

Re: sunday weddings
I was concerned about having a wedding on Sunday because people have work the next day. But in the end people will stay if they want to regardless if it is Saturday or Sunday. Do what is best for you!

People know before hand what day your wedding is so if they want they can take the next day off. Do what is best for you and FH, not what the BM wants.

Re: sunday weddings
When fh and I were planning...we both knew that we wanted a Sat night...We were looking at December at first...but when we talked about January there was a HUGE price difference...if your willing to push the wedding back a few weeks- you might be able to save some money that way

Re: sunday weddings
If money is an issue, then do it. We did our wedding on the Monday of a 3 day weekend and we saved a lot of money and were able to negotiate with vendors more than we probably would have had we done a more popular day.

I am getting married on a Sunday and I think it was a great decision! Our ceremony will be at the RH at 2:30 so the reception and everything will be done by 8pm. That way everyone can enjoy themselves and have fun and not stress about leaving early if they have work the next day.

Re: sunday weddings
Hi winterbride!
We are doing our wedding on a Sunday too and i too was worried about ppl having to work the next day. The truth is the people that WANT to be there no matter what will come. Also, if you have out of towners, (i have lots coming from Puerto Rico) as long as they know in advance i'm sure they will have no trouble taking off 1 day. Who likes monday work days anyways?? Just make sure to send your save the dates out so people know its a Sunday.
Also try to get the twilight time or do an afternoon wedding. Ours is starting at 3:30 and will be over by 9pm the latest. So people can still drive home and be in bed for work the next day!
