Sunflowers & Flowers

My MIL is a retired florist and as of today is graciously taking on the task of doing my flowers. She asked me to start gathering pics and ideas for her so I am thinking I want the girls to carry only one or two large, long steamed sunflowers wrapped in ribbon. Does anyone have a pic of something like this? or any other Sunflower BOK / Butineer/ or Centerpiece that I may be able to use as a place to start. Would sunflowers look okay as butineers?

I also like tiger lilies...Do you think sunflowers and tiger lilies would be too much? I mean they are two larger blooms, would they be okay to use together? Our wedding colors are 'spice' (orange-pink) and yellow with a little purple thrown in where needed. Are there any flowers that may go good together that are in these colors?

I am so happy that she wants to do the flowers, but I don't want to give her a hard time and not know what I want or go to her right from the start with crazy ideas. I also want to give her options so if she can't do something I have more ideas to throw her way. I know she'll work with me, but I don't want to be a pain or expect her to do everything.

These were my BM BoK's. They were 4 sunflowers tied with brown ribbon, although I don't have a pic of the ribbon.

I would caution against using sunflowers for the boutoniers because sunflowers are large and you don't want such a large flower on a man. Maybe use a dark yellow calla lily for the boutonier instead?

Also, you can probably use the tiger lilies with the sunflowers in the centerpieces. For that, you should probably talk to your MIL since she will have a better idea of proportions as a florist. DH's godfather is a florist and did our flowers, so I showed him my ideas and colors, and I deferred to his judgement and suggestions about what flowers would go with others. In the end, all the flowers came out amazing.

i see smaller looking sunflowers in some of these. maybe you could ask your florist about using those for a bout.
