Anybody been married at either of these places? Or been to a wedding? If so what were your likes/dislikes?

I've been to a wedding at sunset harbour and it was wonderful! So much so that FH and I booked ours for there as well! FM me if you want more details! I only have wonderful things to say! I haven't been to the West Sayville Country Club so I can not comment on that.

My sister got married at West Sayville. The Food and everything was great. It was before they renovated though, so I don't know what the rooms look like now. The only thing I didn't like at the time was the set up of the room- It was an L shape w/ the dance floor on one end and table at the other.
I haven't been to a wedding at Sunset Harbour but I actually almost booked it. The prices were great. They do tastings. I'd go for one of those before booking to see.

So I went to both today. I loved the West Sayville Country Club. There is an amazing view of the great south bay. It is kind of an odd set up because it's an old house. Price was very reasonable and since its 100 years old it had a lot of character. The dance floor was on kind of a patio that was attached to the dining area with 3 set of french doors and windows all around so it ws pretty open. The only thing weird is that the cocktail room, ceremony room, and dining room its basically all the same room. Sunset harbour wasn't my favorite. There just wasn't anything that just jumped out at me the room was kind of plain. And the woman was kind of eager to get us in and out. I've also been to Brentwood Country Club which we liked as well, and I don't think I could beat their price....

My sister got married at West Sayville and it was fantastic! Great food and service, and the grounds are beautiful. If you do end up booking there, I think you'll be very happy with your choice! Good luck!
