Super Size Me?

Super Size Me?

Has anyone seen this documentary?? We rented it last night, I was really curious to see it...Granted this guy ate McDonalds 3 times a day, for 30 days...but what it did to his body was unbelievable. The internist told him he was 'pickling' his own liver. It really made me think twice about eating that stuff...I guess once in a while isn't bad...

Just wanted to see if anyone else watched this and what they thought..I thought it was an excellent documentary!!

I am a dietitian and I thought this was unbelievable. I can not believe that this guy decided to do this. It really shows though how fast food can destroy you! I believe you can eat anything BUT in moderation.

It really is an eye opener. And for people to sue McDonalds, claiming it caused their obesity?? Talk about a super frivolous lawsuit. To me, that was disgusting. No one forced McDonalds into their mouths...

I haven't seen the documentary but I am currently reading 'Fast food nation' and although some of it is a little boring, some of the information about the food preparation in fast food restaurants is eye-opening!

That movie was disturbing..especially that exercise with the kids.

I laughed when one kid thought the picture of Jesus was George Bush. That was pretty funny!!

OH one more comment....the fact that the family standing outside the capitol building couldn't recite the pledge of allegiance...but knew the McDonalds 'one all beef patty..'..song by heart was terrible. How embarrasing for them and America.

I highly recommend checking this doc. out...there were tons of copies under 'new releases'.

I haven't seen it, but one day after babysitting I decided to get McDonald's since it had been a very long day and I didn't feel like cooking... I got home and saw my roommate and asked 'What are you doing tonight?'

her reply, as a take a large bite of my big mac...

'Seeing Super Size Me.'

I almost spit out out right then and there... but it was too good, so i didn't.

But I agree, anything in moderation is fine. I get fast food maybe twice a month, I don't think that will hurt me too much....

Though, might I add, that FH ate a lot of fast food during the last few years of college (his apt was like 2 seconds away from McDonalds... and Domino's stays open till 3...)

He went home for 6 months between graduation and starting grad school and lost like 15 pounds by just not eating fast food as often.

It's funny, but after I saw this movie, I wanted to eat Mc Donalds.

The funniest part of this movie was when the guy said that when he has kids, everytime he passes McDonald's he's going to punch them in the face so they associate a bad feeling and seeing McDonald's.

Gross...but about two months after seeing that movie, we got it to eat one night (because it was the only thing open at 2am) and I had such a Mc Tummyache!!!

But didnt that guy also eat all big macs and super huge size fries and the extra large soda... did he ever choose a salad??

Johnny&Maur Posted:

Re: Super Size Me?

Yeah, there were times when he had the salads...they don't focus on that as much. I guess because he had to consume one of everything on the menu within the 30 days. So he'd be eating a salad alongside fries and an apple pie...and his dressing was packed with sugar and fat...not too healthy.

I will still eat the occasional burger and fries from mcdonalds..gotta live a little, right?!

Oh and i love their sundaes...wow, now i want one.
