Superbowl Sunday food? HELP!

I grew up in the most italian of houses and because my mother cooks every day of her life, I never had to. So I have this great chef of a mother and I'm a dumbo who can basically boil eggs.

I'm having Superbowl at my house... WTFFF should I cook?!?!

Chili & Buffalo wings?
Pizza?

Keep in mind- my family is ITALIAN! I can't really imagine them enjoying tex-mex!

Every SuperBowl Ihave been to, there is always a ton of dips, chips, wings, etc...

You can even get a cold cut platter or a 3-6ft hero and call it a day

Re: Superbowl Sunday food? HELP!

Everything you have you don't even need to cook...

order a 6 ft sub (depending on how many people) or Sloppy Joes
potatoe/macaroni salad (the sub place we're ordering from includes them)
chips (potatoe, pretzel), onion or ranch dip
I'm making a bread bowl... Yum!!
mini hot-dogs
wings
maybe cookies for sweets
oh... and for some girls maybe veggies and dip

Oh, and don't forget lots of beer and alcohol!

We're having picky foods like wings, dips, chips, and english muffin pizzas.

I go with the other gals and make ziti & maybe order a hero too. You don't want something too fussy. Keep it simple and enjoy the time together.

Scope out Costco/BJ's too for some appeitzers that you can throw in the oven. They have tons of stuff that's already prepared all you have to do is heat them up.

Happy Super Bowl!!!

Re: Superbowl Sunday food? HELP!

buffalo wings are a must! Chili is good too...and I have a great taco dip recipe...

cream cheese
hormel's meat chili
mexican mix cheese

layer the cream cheese on the bottom, the chili on the next and top with cheese...through in microwave until warm! (six minutes or so) big hit!

What about sausage and pepper heroes? get some italian bread, make the S&P and throw it on the table so people can make their own!

i know exactly what you mean girl!!!!

since you want an italian-style superbowl sunday - why dont you make a cold pasta dish. (Like you can make bowties with pesto and piniolis, or you can just make bowties with olive oil, sun dired tomatoes and fresh mozzarella) its very easy to make - and what italian complains abt pasta???

then, you can make buffolo wings, chip and dip, veggies and dip, a platter of cheese and sausages, and - you can make a platter of cold cuts and everyone can make their own sandwich with italian bread

its all easy to make - and its a buffet style italian-approved meal!

Never underestimate the importance of mozzerella sticks.

Seriously, a hero, some frozen appetizers you can throw in the oven, wings from a nearby place that has good ones, that's it. Chili could work too, as all food is open season when it comes to the superbowl.

spinach & artichoke dip served in a pumpernickle bread bowl is a must.
wings
hero/cold cuts
lots of chips & dips
You really don't need to cook anything (I too come from an Italian home and understand the pressures of cooking). Finger foods work best for these kind of gatherings. Worst case scenario get everyone liquored up. When you have a buzz going everything tastes great

Re: Superbowl Sunday food? HELP!

If I were u I wouldn't cook and I would just order everything since everyone basically does for the SuperBowl anyway. We're getting together with some friends and I ordered: 3 ft. Italian style hero, chicken wings, mini riceballs and focaccia pizza. Then I'll put out the olives and mushroom salad. If you're planning on having a lot more people then maybe u could get a tray of baked ziti and some potato croquettes
