Thanks sweetie!! I have tomorrow off from work so no conference calls!! I have been running back and forth between hospital and hotel while staying on conference calls for the past two days
Tomorrow is a big day. Thanks for thinking of us, and I will probably be online while sitting at the hospital I love technology.
One of the RT's is remotely interesting. Super dooper!!

Hey Laurie. :)
My mom is in the hospital for heart surgery. She has been sick since August, she has very limited heart function. So we are hoping that this procedure will help her!! Thanks for the wishes. I am here at the hospital for the day.

She is part of a clinical trial and they will be inserting stem cells into her heart to regenerate the heart muscle. At least, we are hoping it is the stem cells. Since it is a clinical trial, she could get stem cells or she could get the placebo. We won't know for 6 months which one she received and if it worked or not.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she gets the cells. How do they even determine who gets them and who doesn't? I wonder if they only give them to the patients that need it the most.
How long is the regeneration supposed to take - will she see good symptoms if she actually does get the cells?

Only the lab technician knows which catheters have stem cells vs placebo. They place the results in an envelope and they open the envelope in 6 months.
She possibly could see results in 6 weeks. When she comes back to Houston for the 6 month check up, they will conduct another nuclear test that shows the health of her heart. So lots of fingers crossed!!!

The doctor was just here and said the procedure could take from one to three hours. I may leave for a while and then come back. This is frustrating.

They haven't brought her back to the OR yet so I am keeping her company. They are telling me now that she won't be done until 5:30 or so. So I will leave when she is back in the OR.
