Supersition question: Kneeling on your dress?

Supersition question: Kneeling on your dress?

FMIL is insisting that i kneel on my dress during the ceremony - apparently her mother used to say that it is good luck.

has anyone else ever heard of this?

No but are you sure you will be kneeling? We had a Catholic Mass but we were the only ones who didn't have to kneel.

we're getting married at our hall, outside.

apparently at some point during the ceremony she says i'm supposed to kneel on my dress - not as part of the ceremony, but just like randomly i guess.

But i don't want grass stains

I was just wondering if anyone else had heard of this before, because i never have.

If it's random (I've never heard of this myself) can you do it inside somewhere or does it have to be part of the ceremony?

apparently it has to be part of the ceremony - i don't want to do it though.

I did kneel during my Catholic mass, but not sure where you would fit it in otherwise?

Don't do it if you don't want to. It's not easy trying to make everyone happy. Maybe you can drop the subject and just not do it. 'Oops! I forgot in the craziness of the day'

No I never heard of that. We had a Catholic Mass (we only knelt during Communion).

Never heard of it! be careful about kneeling on the dress outside...I got a grass stain on my train by just taking pics outside on the grass. Think you got a good plan about how to handle it.

You know you could have a blanket set up and you kneel slightly with maybe a child (flower girl, ring beare, sisters baby) and take a picture. I would be a nice picture and it will make your fmil happy. I'm the last person to care what my FMIL will think, but I thought it would be a nice picture.
