Re: Surfing the crimson wave on my wedding day!!!!
You have more than a year to take care of this. Speak with your doctor. If you're on BC, you might be able to manipulate it, with the help of your doctor, so you don't have it for your big day.

I might have mine on my wedding also - I'm panicked! I thought of starting BC pills but don't want to gain weight. What's a good brand to take w/o a lot of side effects like weight gain?

BC all the way. If you skip the placebo pills and start a new pack instead you will not get it. I've done this many times during vacations or other special events.

there's a website www.beinggirl.com, that can tell u youre period for every month. as it turns out it keeps predicting every month that I will get my period on my day. and I get horrible cramps and the whole nine yards.. such is my luck, so I just started taking BC, Loestra Fe, with four months to go!

I would not worry too much- You are still over a year away and your cycle could change a lot by then. Stress can influence it a lot.

As I read this, knowing you're a may bride I'm thinking geez, she should get started on ocps right away, then I saw we still have another year lol don't panic yet. The days most likely will be diff, but who wants to take a chance?? There are a lot of GREAT hormonal contraceptive options out there that can manipulate your period anyway you want. Pills aren't like how they were yrs ago, so you don't get all that wt gain. My patients love the low hormone pills and nuvaring is a fabolous option as well. You need to discuss with your dr which is right for you. I have seen some weight gain on depo-provera (the shot) But anways, don't get nervous, make an appt with your gyn and youmll be set!

thanks for this website! i HAD to check this every month from now. if this is sort-of true, by their calculation, the last day of my period would be the day BEFORE my wedding! oh no! PMS AND DAYS before wedding = super BRIDEZILLA!!!

You have over a year, I guarantee it'll change before then.

I'm wworried about the same thing BUT be careful with manipulating BC. I did that so i wouldnt have my period for my vacation and i wound up pregnant...which i found out about on my last day of vacation lol!! If you're going to manipulate it just be careful and use extra protection so you dont end up preggo on your wedding day.

Re: Surfing the crimson wave on my wedding day!!!!
It's so far away it might not happen that way! The stress of the wedding as it gets close can throw off your cycle, and so can any other things that happen between now and then. I've been on a few different pills and they never made me gain weight, over eating and not exercising did! I take a generic of seasonale so I don't get a period for 3 months, but let me tell you, I get that damn breakthrough bleeding, which can be more annoying than a real period. Do be careful with adjusting it so you don't get a period. I know you can skip the placebo pills (which is basically what seasonale is), but don't have an early period! I'd think that would cause it to be ineffective. If you need to do it, ask your Dr, they could probably tell you exactly how to take it and when to not have your period on you wedding day and honeymoon!
