Have any of you gals ever had surgery for a deviated septum? If so, what surgeon did you use? Can you post before and after pics? I'm debating having it done, and am looking into it....

Re: Surgery
I had it done!!! Dr. Tobias is the BEST! Voted in NY best of the best many years in a row!! All he does is noses--FANTASTIC!!!!!! I did tons of research! He actually had to fix a botched up rhinoplasty/septoplasty..he had his work cut out for him and I can't believe the work he did!!! But after my horrible experience I researched and interviewed at least 10 doctors before coming across Dr. Tobias!!
He has an office in Manhattan and an office in Englewood NJ.
I did. I used the doctor from Extreme Makeover. Dr. Morello. Highly recommend him! He's awesome.
However, if you're getting married within the next 9 months you better wait to have any rhinoplasty done because it wont be fully healed. It takes a full year for all the swelling to go down.

Re: Surgery
There is an ENT practice on Long Island in Bay Shore and Patchogue. They are amazing!! They're a large practice, 2 of the doctors names are Dr. Bonafede and Dr. Staro.

Re: Surgery
That's def enough time...they say about one full year for recovery. But after 2-3 months mostly all swelling is gone....only you and your surgeon will notice the differences from there to one yr. The only thing is it's almost Oct...you might not be able to schedule surgery for a few months with a highly reputable surgeon!!

Re: Surgery
I have been talking to surgeons....I just have to decide if I am going through with it. Dr. Jacono, who is my favorite, and can do it....I just have to take the final step.....it's a little nervewracking....

Re: Surgery
I had my septum fixed, my turbinates reduced, and he built something like an internal breathe rite strip inside my nose...all for medical reasons.
It was done back in March....3 months before my wedding...because i was constantly sick and didn't realize that you should actually be able to breathe thru your nose when your mouth is closed..haha...(i did NOT have anything cosmetic done..which helped healing time and why there isn't much bruising)
It was the best decision i ever made..and although the surgery is quite an unpleasant thing to go thru and recovery is slow (no working out for 4 weeks!)...my nose is still sensitive at times...but i have not been sick since March...which is a world record for me...i wish i knew this was my problem years ago!
I used a Dr out by me in Southampton...FM if you want info!
here are some scary pics...the first was the day after...the 2nd was about a week after...but i looked normal in time for my wedding pics...thank god! FM me if you have any other questions and good luck!!!
ETA: my nose on the wedding day & an engagement pic (taken before...you can see it healed well & looks the same as before)

WOw- you looked good right after..I had cosmetic stuff done (I had that big ole Italian nose) and I seriously looked like I was run over by a truck and then beat up by a gang! My second one was even worse b/c they had to rebuild the entire tip of my nose with cartilage from my ear!! So I had drains coming out of my ears...it was ruff!
