I know showers are supposed to be a surprise, but what are your thoughts about surprise bachelorette parties?

Re: Surprise bachelorette party?
It depends on what they have planned. I don't think it's going to be a surprise since my shower was, but if they want it to be then that's cool too. I just don't want them planning anything that I don't want to do (i.e. going to a strip club).

Re: Surprise bachelorette party?
My BP was supposed to be a surprise (except for the date), but everyone was fighting about what to do, so they got me involved. I had a great time, but wish there wasn't so much drama about planning it. It could be fun if it's a surprise as long as the people planning it know what you like and what you don't want.

Re: Surprise bachelorette party?
I wanted (and got) my party to be a surprise in that I wouldn't know what we were doing, but I would know the date and time. So I wasn't surprised that there was a party, but my BP got to surprise me with our activities. It was great!

Hey, Suzanne! I'm on the fence about the surprise. While I trust my friends to plan things for me, I'd want to be prepared, as far as what to wear and whether or not it would be an overnight thing.

Re: Surprise bachelorette party?
I think that it should be a surprise for the bride. I know that it could be scary depending on what your girls pick, but I would like to hope that you would pick people in your wedding party that wouldn't put you in a situation in which you would feel uncomfortable or not able to have a good time. Just my thoughts...... besides, if you know what it is, but don't like it, are you actually going to tell your girls?? and then in that case, are you even going to have a good time??

Re: Surprise bachelorette party?
I am leaving it to my MOH & BM - I want them to plan it all - so I am a bit surprised. But I don't want it like a surprise party not knowing what I was walking in to...

A surprise BP makes me nervous...lol. I can't even handle not knowing about my shower. I would be to afraid of where I might end up if it were a surprise

Re: Surprise bachelorette party?
I'm a fan of a good surprise party, and I trust my MOH to keep things in check and know what I would and wouldn't want (because many of my other 'friends' who might volunteer to get involved don't necessarily have the same sense of me as she does...)
I'm divided on whether or not I'd want just the content of the party to be a surprise, or just have the party as a whole (when, where, etc) as a surprise.
