Surprise party help!

I want to throw a surprise birthday party for FH, but I am having such a hard time finding a place I can afford! Here is what I am looking for...

I want a place preferably that is a bar/restaurant where we can make it casual like passed hor' douerves and like a beer, wine, soda open bar. Im looking in Nassau County or border of Nassau/Suffolk. Any suggestions?

Over in Suffolk in Oakdale is where I had a surprise party for FH last year. At the Vanderbilt Wharft... the place was free, so I just paid a bar tab and for the food and DJ. The whole place was ours...

FH threw my surprise party at Molly Malones in Bay Shore, but he also looked at the Bulldog in Amityville (they already had a party booked that night)

I threw one for FH last year at a Knights of Columbus. I had it catered and open bar and hired a band and it was really reasonable!

In Flushing, Queens. But what worked out well was it's right across the street from the LIRR so alot of people came by train to avoid driving and were able to just walk over from the train. The room was upstairs and it was nice. It was a year and a half ago but from what I remember we had 100 people and the open bar included all beer and liquor and it was $1,000....I think. Then for another $500 we ordered trays of food and heros from a pizza place. It worked out really well!

Thanks! I am going to check Croxleys, but the brunch thing really wont work since the majority of the people on the guest list will probably be just coming home around brunch time from the night before lol
