Surprise Shower ?

Is anyone finding it hard to talk to some people who might slip?

I was at my part-time job last night and I was talking to one of my co-workers and she was telling me that everyone is trying to get 'my shower day' off. That my manager said at least 2 people have to work that day...then she said she didn't see why it would be a problem on a SUNDAY in.... I told her okay...enough stop talking....It was completely innocent but I know if we kept talking about it she would have slipped and said the date!

i actually like the way my family does it for this reason

once you are within a year of the wedding there is NO TALK of a shower. . . even if i mentioned something i registered for - everyone would look at me and call me a brat for assuming i was having one

if they were going out to do stuff for it they would make up other excuses etc. it was seriously like i wasnt having one so no one slipped!

i actually hated when people would say 'oh i bet you want to know when it is' bc i didnt want to talk about MY shower at all!

I don't want a surprise shower. I've been begging my family to tell me when it is.

My younger sister is insisting I'm not having one, while my mother keeps telling me that my sisters have to get their act together and figure out a date! =)

I don't get it..why do so many people slip..including my fmil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sort of..but it might have been changed...she called me up one day for my mom..she wasn't here so she said 'tell your mom i'll be there may 18' she was silent and then started evil laughing..please don't tell me when it is

No definitely not...I heard something else the other night when FH was talking to his cousin. Her daughter is our fg. She is pregnant with her 2nd child and is due in April and I heard her say she probably won't make it to my shower.
