I just know my fiance's mother is planning a surprise bridal shower for me the end of summer. It's so obvious to me even though they're trying so hard to set it up to be a surprise...you know what I mean...the harder they try, the more obvious it is. For instance, they keep talking about Grandpa's 75th birthday party (that's the cover-up)...and other stuff...
Hi Glory- I think you shouldnt say anything prior to the date and just try to act surprised...when it comes to a wedding or pregnancy, a shower is always pretty much expected to happen somewhere along the line so for them to be trying to surprise you is a huge effort on their part too. I think it would be a shame to take that away from them. And that day, try the surprised look and all but don't worry if it isnt the best acting..by then it wont matter but I'm sure they are so excited to be planning it...in the meantime you can be glad you know so you can be sure to have on some nice clothes on and have your hair fixed for pics...good luck.

... but you know what? I appeared to be so surprised because I was overwhelmed by the amount of people there. It really knocked me off my feet - all those people there just for me. I couldn't move. :o)
Not to worry - it will all be OK.
So.... make a big fuss about that, how you can't believe so-and-so is there and "what are you doing in town!" etc. and of course how delighted you are that they came all that way to be there.
