Surprised by who says yes and who says no...

1) So got a response today from FH old boss that him and his pregant (and due soon too) wife will be attending the wedding. We were very happy b/c we didnt think they would come b/c of the pregnancy and we havent seen/spoke to them in a while, meanwhile one of my oldest guy freinds responded no b/c he has the 'house' in fire island that weekend and can't trade it! BS! I just find it interesting as to who says yes and who says no, it seems whoever i think would respond one way does the other!!

2) Our response date is th 17th of may (next week) and the responses are coming to to halt (i got one within the past 5 days) and like 50-60 people still havent responded! Anyone esle going through this? I called my mom and she was like they are coming, they are not and i'm like mom, they need to send the response card in, i am not going by word of mouth! Same with FH friends...around 10 of them havent responded yet and he's like they will be there...well wheres the response?

My response date is to,orroe & I am still waiting on about 36 people & they were all invited with guests. It is very annoying. I spoke to my mom this morning 7 was asking about her friends & there was an excuse fo r each one of them-like they were away or something but they are coming....HELLO-have they been away for a whole month? Just mail it in!

It is amazing how people respond. I was the photographer at my friend's wedding in Alabama and he couldn't even come. I wasn't even paid for my duties, but I digress. We invited over 180 and didn't even make 100. (but be calm, all of our guests are from OOT as we aren't originally from LI)

I am still waiting on 20 responses myself. And we were married 38 days ago.

Bayla. . .congrats date twin I'd like to say I feel your pain, but I'm not there yet. . .unfortunately FH and I are horrible procrastinators and didn't mail our invites out until last week with a RSVP date of June 1. . . hearing your experience makes me very nervous though. . . yikes, procrastination is bad, bad, bad. We've only gotten 3 official RSVP's but several verbals. . . I definately find those annoying though. . . obviously people think I paid for return postage just for the h#!! of it. . . argggghhhh. . people stink! I wish the day was here already so I could just sit back and enjoy it. . . AAHHHH. . . it's going to be a beautiful day

I was outright shocked by some of the no's. One was a shock because in the beginning and over the months my friend said she was coming and suddenly it's a no! Then another friend, from high school, sends the rsvp as regret with a note saying something about not being able to find a date! I saw her this weekend at our other friends bridal shower and I made it quite clear that I was not happy with her and she outright said that she doesn't go to weddings without a date! What is that about!

I haven't sent out invitations yet but, I was shocked at the initial response from friends/family when we sent out our save the dates. My dad's family isn't super close and they all intend on coming (it's still up in the air obviously since only the ones we do see often have reserved their hotel rooms).

Bonnie - we were chasing down RSVPs right up to the week of our wedding! I also wasn't taking word of mouth RSVPs (until I was desparate enough to do so!). A week after our RSVP date we were still waiting on 85 responses!

They'll come, and if not, then I suggest delegating the phone calls to each person's portion of the guest list so you don't have to be stressed out about it.

this has got to be the absolute worst part of wedding planning... my response date was may 4th and i am still waiting for 40 replies!

i put up a post last week about how upset i was that most of my friends from school were saying no... i thought they would want to come to my wedding, they are young, they all live in long island... but the excuses are so lame it is not even funny!.... four of the girls who are not coming to the wedding did not even reply for the shower (and did not come). But now i am starting to get over being upset... i dont want people there who don't want to come anyway....

Only 5 more days until my RSVP date and I have heard from 74 out of 160 people.....

That is annoying! I am already starting to 'encourage' close friends and family to send theirs back even though they are not late yet!
