SUSHI

Me and my fh go for sushi on friday nights. I looked forward to friday to have the sushi. I usually get the same things all the time scared to try something different.

What is your favorite sushi that you would suggest?

I love eel (don't be scared.. its really good. Cooked with a sauce on it)
salmon skin
spicy tuna
california roll
yellow tail

Salmon skin and the eel & cucumber are my favorites!! I have tried the raw ones but just can't get into it....

The BEST place I have evr eaten sushi is in Huntington, a place called Kura Barn. No other place has ever matched IMO. They have spicy mayo which I use in place of soy sauce. It's incredible and theirs is better than any other i've tried.
I highly recommend them!!

I definitely second eel! My favorite!

Also, tuna, salmon, crab, shrimp (not sweet shrimp), and spicy tuna rolls! Mostly any kind of roll is good... I love the ones where they put stuff on the outside of the roll too. My favorite place is Hokkaido in Roslyn Heights! The BEST!!

I am eating sushi as much as possible now cause when I get pregnant I can't have it!

I love all of them: tuna, eel, shrimp, etc. I usually get the dinner with 10-12 pieces (all mixed).

MMMM. I love sushi too (rolls and indivdual pieces). My favs are salmon skin and spicy tuna, however, I like those rolls they have now that have the fish on the inside and the outside too but they are VERY filling.

FH hates sushi so I go a couple of times a month with one of my friends/colleagues at work.

Spicy salmon is my favorite but I usually have to special order it (usually not on menu)

if you want to try something new
try sea urchin rowe its very good
and theres also another rowe I think its salmon rowe and they crack a raw pheasent egg on top of it
that is also very good.

id stay away from tilefish, raw squid, raw octopus,(cooked squid and octopus is great though)

I recommend yellowtail tuna, stiped bass, and snowcrab.

also if you want a twist get a shrimp tempura roll
and if you want it to taste really good, get either eel or snowcrab on top

Uni with raw Quail egg is the best - not for the novice.

Also, as a nice ending try a plum paste hand roll. Do not put any sause on it. Just eat as it is given to you.

I don't eat fish...so I usually only have veggies in my roll...and get tamago (sweet eggs)

but DH is a HUGE sushi fan...waiters ask him all the time if he is sure he wants so much...he usually gets:
spicy tuna roll
dragon roll
the restaurant's unique special rolls
regular sushi ..like the yellowtail, salmon..etc
tobiko handroll

if you are up for it...on 12th and university there is a great restaurant Japonica...they have the 'Japonica Invention' that DH and friends LOVE!! they also have tuna cheek

I LOVE Spicy Tuna too.
The place we go to I LOVE is called a Godzilla.
It is spicy tuna, avocado, and asparagus. Then it is deep fried, and then a YUMMY sauce is put on top
