Suspicious posts

OK, I am not one to start any trouble at all, so please do not think I am. I just find it strange when someone is new on here and their first or second post is about a specific vendor. I find it a little strange. Any one else?

I could see how you might think that, and I tend to agree. However, I have to admit my first or second post was probably about a vendor, so to say that I would be a hypocrit.

Yep, and when 2 new brides post in the same thread, one more descriptive than the next....

Edited to add: Shamma, who did you use for your band, and makeup?

Re: Suspicious posts

Just to be devil's advocate here. A lot of people start posting specifically because they are curious about a particular vendor and want opinions. They are not looking for general wedding advice. It doesn't mean they are phony. Once I discovered this site I did a search on every vendor I had already booked to see what people had said in the past. Also, a lot of brides here basically advertise repeatedly for the vendors that they like. These are usually well established vendors with wonderful reputations and I have booked many of them too. But to a new poster who is asking about a specific vendor, it probably seems strange that people usually direct them to the same few vendors when they were asking about someone in particular.
That being said, obviously there are a lot of fake brides who come on the site too.

My 1st post was about a vendor. Someone from another post told me to come here and ask! And I've been a liwedding.com crackhead ever since.

now i am really curious. but usually if i am suspicious, i try to just ignore those posts. plus, i hate jumping to conclusions and not giving someone a chance (although, i am pretty gullible sometimes!)

Re: Suspicious posts

I am along the same line of Radiostar. Someone told me to come post on here to ask a question about a vendor, so my first couple of posts were about vendors and I've been hooked ever since. I do agree that I find it strange though when someone only posts about vendors. Especially when they come across so strong.
