Uhmmm depends on how much you are looking to spend...Range rovers are good but a little pricey

A Mitsubishi Endeavour. Not sure how it is spelled but I love it. My mom has one and it drives well in bad weather. I said I wanted to get it when we have kids because I feel it is such a safe car.

Re: SUV
we have a suburban (can you believe we had it living in nyc?!?!?!? ).
I love driving it and haven't had a problem with it....but go for the smaller version...I thnk it's the tahoe?
But the gas milage BLOWSSSSSSSSSSSS. Seriously think about that when buying an SUV, because you have NO idea how much $$$ we spend on gas. It's borderline criminal.
I plan on getting a small car when we move back to NYC for that reason. It's ridiculous.

I like the suburban, and yeah tahoe is the smaller version...Both are great family cars.

it was great at first but after a while it was breaking down ALL THE TIME!!! the manufacturer also messed up and the thing the belt is on was on wrong, so my belt was always getting shredded, which would causes the water pump to heat up and my car to heat up and die on me...at one point i hate to change my belt every 2-3 months which is crazy considering you change a belt every 10,000miles at least, usually more.
The thing unfortunately is that american made cars are not that great...theres problems with how they were built and you will end up fixing your car more often.
Almost everyone i know who had a jeep ended up having alot of engine problems
