Hi Swan Club brides. Was wondering whether I could rely on your expertise...
I'd love any recommendations you may have for a hotel that is close to the swan club (15 minute drive away) that is nice and affordable for my out of town guests.
Where did you have your guests stay? And do you mind my asking what they quoted you for block room rates?

I used the Marriott in Uniondale. Contrary to what some people think, it's been completely redone and is pretty nice.
I *think* our rooms were $129 a night. Maybe $10 less or more. Other hotels closer to SC were booked and/or too pricey.
Mine and DH's room was really big, too, and they gave it to us at the same rate as our guests. Perfect size for getting ready in the morning - we had a bunch of people in there, including hair, makeup and photogs.

We stayed at the La Quinta in Garden City. They were absolutely wonderful.

I got married near the SC, and we booked our OOT block at the Roslyn Claremont hotel. They were great, hotel was so clean. Brunch the next morning was yummy. And the congratulatory champagne and fruit and cheese plate was great the next day when we took it home with us!

Jumping in here .. any of these places provide a shuttle ? Ive got a wedding in Feb. @ the swan club and dont think they have a block booked yet TIA

The La Quinta had a deal that with every 15 rooms booked the bride could either have 1, 14 person shuttle or $100 dollars off the bridal suite. Their shuttle service is provided through Camelot. I was using Camelot anyway so I booked my shuttle servicee with them anyway and used the $100 off the room.
BTW Brunch was amazing the next day and they let us take over the hotel lobby after the reception was over. I think the rooms were $145 a night.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn after my cousin's Swan Club Wedding (didn't feel like going back to the city late) - it was nice, no complaints!

We booked at the Hyatt Place in Garden City... it just opened in February/March 2010 it was gorgeous and the service was great. 24hr hot food available in the hotel was a big hit.
