as a person with OCD i feel the need to get everything done way ahead of time. my current obsession is getting my veil, now. my wedding is not until july and my dress wont be in until may.
i called bridal reflections today to see if i could get a swatch of the 'ivory' that my dress will be, just to get an idea so i can start looking at veils. i was told that this is absolutely not done, it wont be the same dye lot, blah blah blah.
whats the big deal? i just want an idea, obviously its not going to be a perfect match!
what was your experience with getting a veil?
ps i dont want to get one from BR!

Alot of veil places that I have looked at give you free samples of their material. Maybe you can order that and then bring that sample to your dress shop and put it against the material your dress is made of?
I ordered veil swatch samples when I ordered my veil ;)

I wasn't going to say it 'cause I was afraid I would sound nuts but thats exactly what I did...you can go to veilshop.com and request a material sample and they give you one piece of paper w/ swatches of like 12 different colors attached to it so you can go compare that to the sample dress and then use that to help when you go looking for veils.

I ordered my dress - and when I ordered it i said i needed a swatch (i had a hollow to hem so there is no leftover material for them to cut off the bottom) and I got one. that simple!

I asked for one from the bridal salon and they couldn't give me one either. Will have to take the veil sample and take it to the salon.

That's exactly what I did too! Since your sample dress isn't the same color you ordered, is there another dress by the same designer in the right color? Then you can just match the veil swatches up to that one.
