Sweater Vests..

Why are they back? Some of them are cute, but the ones with paisley and designs all over them need to go!

ETA: I do like vest though, they look preppy.

Put a turtleneck or an oxford cloth shirt under it and I'd wear it.

I miss 80's preppy styles. Sometimes I try to recreate them with some hardcore LLBean outfits and people ask me if I am from Maine or something.

OMG i was so preppy in the 80's. My dad lived in MA. and i had a lot of friends there. So a lot of Dexter shoes, fisherman sweaters, turtlenecks under sweatshirts or sweaters. i was more sporty preppy than geeky yuppy preppy.
I still love preppy too!

(as long as neon and acid wash/bubblegum jeans don't come back.)

It's so funny that you mention this. Just a couple days ago my FH says 'I need to get a sweater vest' and I'm like 'Babe, NOBODY needs to get a sweater vest'

I LOVE sweater vests - especially on men! Only when fitted though, like Erica describes. I've been buying my DH them for 2 yrs now and he looks adorable in them!!!

i kind of like them....i remember them being in around '95 when I started college...i like 'em! You have to wear them with the right outfit.
