SWEEETTT Gift to my JA...

John's cousin is very creative... (I hope she'll stir some creative juices in me and inspire me)

She told John that for a bday gift to JA, she wanted to paint a mural in his bedroom, but since she lives so far (Rockland County.. about 90m-2hrs away?) and has 2 kids and works part time, it would be really hard for her to get it done, so she's painting him a picture on a canvas, and asked me what I wanted...

I thought that was SOOOOO SWWEETTT and thoughtful and special of a gesture !!!

What I like about the canvas idea is that I can move it (ya know when you rearrange the room every once in a while ) from one side of the room to the other, or to the playroom, or to the baby's room...

I dont really have a theme in JA's bedroom since I love so many things and could never stick to one, so I told her Disney characters would be my top choice She's surfing the net for inspiration and coming up with something.. I told her to surprise me, she's the artist here.. She needs some freedom of expression and not just be told what to paint

What a lovely gift. I like the canvas too because you will always have it, sounds like it will be a treasured gift. Youre smart to allow her creative freedom, I bet it will be gorgeous.

My SIL had a mural painted in her boy's room. It's of the Disney parade. I don't know where she got the picture…It's not a full wall or anything , but its pretty large. Somebody gave it to her as a gift at her shower, and somebody came to the house and did it one weekend. It’s the parade with the castle in the background and it's neat. There is SO much to look at. Every time I look at it I see something new. A little mouse peeping out from behind a float…that kind of thing. I am sure when they are a little older it will be a great game to lay there and find this or that while they are falling asleep!

jenny, wow that sounds so nice, the Disney Parade!!! I think Disney brings out the kid in all of us, theres just something magical about them all
