Re: sweet hollow road
Yes, there's TONS of legends about it. So many different stories, and I think one of them is true, but I'm not sure (the one that says there was satanic rituals, I think, because under one of the bridges used to be upside crosses and stuff like that, until they painted over it).
It's really just a very pretty road, though, but very windy and narrow. Drive carefully!
ETA: I've been on it hundreds of times (it's a great shortcut from 110 to Jericho Tpke) and nothing scary has ever happened to me. It was eerie when I was younger, before they painted over the satanic stuff, but that was it!

I've been there a few times but not in quite a few years. It is scary. I also heard that one of the legends is true. There is also a bunch of rumors about the cemetary by the bridge. Drive carefully!!

I heard that if you don't honk the horn when you pass through the road that 2 kids (ghost) come right at you. They were killed by a car that did not honk the horn when passing by because they were playing on the street.

Yes, Huntington. It crosses through a really nice part of Huntington by the West Hills Day camp, through to Route 110 by the Dunkin Donuts.
I have been on this road HUNDREDS of times, at all hours of the day and night, and SERIOUSLY... nothing has ever happened!

Re: sweet hollow road
I took it every day of HS and then every day of college when I worked at Walt Whitman. I never heard anything bad about it. We were always warned of MT Misery Road which is over by it and the area the surrounded Driftwood Camp.. lol

We used to go there years ago to hang out. As I recall, it was scary at the time. There were many legends about it. We used to drive to the end of this road and then walk to this huge pit area and hang out. The whole thing was scary but fun.

Oh maybe that is what I am thinking of... Mt. Misery. That is off Sweet Hollow Road? Maybe that is where the pit was.

Re: sweet hollow road
I worked at West Hills day camp for a summer, so I was on Sweet Hollow plenty. It was never scary to me.
of course, if you go at night, and want to be scared, anything can get spooky.
