swine flu is driving me crazy!

my friend who works for carnival cruise lines is now stuck at sea!!

she goes from san diego to the mexican riveria .. but because of the flu shes banned from going to mexico and they wont let her port in the US!

she says everyone on board is feeling OK for now.. who knows how long they will be stuck out there for..

O god that *****... I know what your saying about the Flu though. Our Friends just changed jobs and moved from Arkansas to NYC last week, and before they moved they went to Mexico as a little vacation before hitting the big city. Well they have twin 1yr old baby boys who stayed back at G-ma's house while they were away, and now one of the babies is stuck in isolation as he might have it. They think the parents could have been a carrier and not have actually gotten it but gave it to the baby. I feel so bad for them.

Sorry to hear abt the baby, and the cruise worker.

My cousin was in st. francis prep and got it. he wasn't even in cancun with the rest of the kids. He was in a news clip and in the paper, sadly that's how i found out. I did talk to him and he's doing much better now.

Hope no one else is/becomes affected by this.

As for the vaccine, from what i understand, there is a small supply, but it will take a long time to mass produce. Hopefully we won't need it!

Oh man that *****!!!!

I think some of you know that I conduct weekly therapy to adult and children. I had a little boy tell me in the beginning of the session yesterday that he is sad that people are dying from this cold. I felt so bad for him cuz he's only 9 years old.

thats insane. the swine flu is crazyyyy. hopefully there will be a vaccine quicker than it normally takes.

Id be cautious of any vaccine for it to be honest. For us here in the US its really not as serious as they are making it out to be. Swine flu broke out in the 70's as well and the vaccine for it had a side effect of a disease (cant remember the name of it) that caused severe paralysis. It was worse then if you were to get the swine flu. If you have an immune difficiency to begin with then I would say go for the vaccine when its out. If not I honestly wouldnt worry about it. If you still want to get it do research before you make any decisions about it.
