Switching wedding date

Switching wedding date

I am thinking about moving my wedding from Sept 2006 to May 2007. My FH and I have decided to buy an apt and might not have enough cash to do both in the same yr.

Has anyone done this before? I am not sure if I will lose money on my deposits? I am planning on using all my vendors just pushing the date.

I would just contact all of your vendors to make sure they have the date open, and tell them you need to slide it back a couple months.

I moved mine up 1 week, and believe it or not, there was already an afternoon wedding booked that day, AND a wedding booked for the next night. And I'm Nov 2007!

this happens everyday!!! don't feel bad about changing the date...sometimes you just have to postpone a little bit. i agree that you should make sure you contact all vendors to ensure they will be able to accomodate you.

We changed our date, and had no problems. As long as you keep the same vendors, they won't charge you anything. Just make sure all the vendors have the date open before you officialy change anything.

Thank you for the advice.

Actually we are going to have to move our wedding date because my FI has to have neck surgery and probably won't be fully recovered in time of the wedding.
I'm kinda bummed about moving the date but his health comes first!!!

As long as the date is available it should be ok. That is if your changing to a date that has the same $$$ value for the caterer. Their might be a difference in pricing for the time of year.

Good Luck!

I would think it would be okay as long as all the vendors are free. And I would make sure they will still charge you the same rate (and not more $ for it being in 2007). Keep us posted and good luck!

It should be fine- just make sure the vendors are free before switching. There may be price adjustments due to time of the year but your vendors should give you the same price b/c you booked early....good luck!

This happens a lot. Not a huge deal. I would contact all vendors ASAP. Dates in 07 are booking quickly but I think you will be fine. Good luck. Let us know your new date.
