Swollen Face

Well, surgery on my teeth went well yesterday. Here's the bad news, I look like a deformed chipmunk. The Left side has like no swelling, but the right looks like I have been storing nuts in it. I am still on very soft foods and can't chew. yay!

i had that done too a while back and it took a couple ofdays for swelling to go down

vicadin for drugs, but I am not in any pain what so ever. I did not even take any yesterday. The ice pack is on, but I am starving!

did they give you pain killers? when i had it done (i did all 4 at once) they gave me a prescription for vicodin. it worked WONDERS!

if they didn't give you any, ASK for it! and get better soon!!!

i was in pain just looking at my fiance after he had 2 pulled at a time... ice it 20 mins on 20 mins off...
i dont think we ever had a big swelling problem with it

When I had an oral infection they gave me vicadin......it honestly did nothing for me. I wound up using Advil anyway!!

treat yourself to a nice big carvel shake!t those are good..
for dinner time a baked ziti... let it cool first..

This was not a root canal, this was rip your gums open and tear out wisdom teeth surgery! The right side gave hin some trouble, even the roof of my is even swollen.

P.S. I am still very hungry

i ate ice cream for a week. also french toast because the bread becomes soft and mushy.

and baked ziti is a good idea too.

Yeah, that stinks.....

Well that vicadin just for a root canal didn't do anything for me....maybe I'm immune to it...

was it an impacted tooth? cause my FMIL said that it hurts bad when its one of those... that might explain it..

emdelon.. my fiance actually lost weight(temporarily) because of it.. he was only chewing on the opposite side of his mouth, and it took him longer so he didnt eat as much.

Unfortunately I had all four at once and I looked like a chipmonk for 2 weeks and it took an additional week past that to eat properly - I ate a lot of sorbet and lost about 20 pounds though- I went to greece right after (still a little swollen) and had trouble eating some foods but not all.

You should be able to eat things other than sandwiches and other items which you need to open you jaw wider for.

Mind you - I only know a few people who had it bad like me, FH and a couple of my friends were able to eat regular food and no swelling 1-5 days later so I it completely depends on the individual
