SWR: A Married Name First!

We're going to Disney for our HM in November and FH is treating me to a spa day. I called today to make my reservations and when they asked for my name, I gave her my married name since that is what our resort reservation is under. I really had to think for a minute about what my name would be. This is the first time I've used my soon to be new name for ANYTHING and it's such a strange feeling. I started laughing and I know the lady thought I was nuts until I explained why I was laughing.

A telemarker jus called and called me Mrs... FH's lastname? I said yes! ( )

It takes a while to get it right......

People think I am so weird when they ask my name and I say 'Gina Maiden, no wait, don't use that, use Gina Married'.

It's a natural reaction for me to say my maiden name, I guess 'cuz I'm also not crazy about my married name.....oh well.....

HAHA - I was just thinking about this last night. Although I've had trouble my whole life explaining that my name was my REAL name, and that YES my last name is latin because I AM latin - what kind of obstacles will I encounter with the new last name? I laughed out loud when I realized that future name sounds like it's a slang term a drug dealer would use who's trying to score.

I had someone call and call me Mrs. S*********...I just said, yes...I couldn't be bothered to correct them. FH husband loves those stories. Especially when he gets mail that says Mr. and Mrs. S*********...very funny

That's so much fun Theresa!! Last weekend at the pool tournament FH won a raffle and the league operator was calling his name, but he was outside, so I walked up to her and she said, 'oh Mrs. John P, yea I can give this to you, same thing!'

I knew I wasn't but I'm so happy to know I'm not the only one who experienced something similar. I called FH and told him the story and he started laughing because he said he could hear me smiling through the phone. I can't wait to me Mrs. H!!!!

It is weird at first, but you get used to it... I havve been using my FH's last name for so much already this year, it just comes natural.. It was weird the other day he was filling out his 401 K papers and he wrote Maria Married name. Where it says relationship he wrote WIFE it was strange
