You must add the font to your font folders on your computer...
Go to the Windows folder, show the hidden folders if that option is not already checked, and then go to the Fonts folder. You can try dragging the font file into this folder, or use the file menu and choose 'add new file'. Now when you use any program, like word or powerpoint, the font will be listed.
