You should have your blood type already on record somewhere from when you were born. Legally, in NY state you don't have to have a blood test before you get married. Your mom probably has your blood type somewhere if you don't know it. And you can def. have kids if you're the same blood type.

I never donated blood. My mom does have my records, I will check with her bec I dont like to take blood. Thanks!!

I can assure you that if you and FH are the same blood type you can have children . both my ex husband and I are both o positive and have two lovely kids ! alot of people now do genetic screenings to make sure there arent any bad genetic diseases they can pass on to their children ! but having the same blood type will not prevent you from having children!

Yeah, and if she doesn't have it, if your pediatrician is still around you can call their office and see if they have it on record, or the hospital you were born in maybe. Your current PCP might have it also if you ever had to have them take blood for anything.

if you dont match up then you just have to have like three shots while you are pregnant - it is pretty common

You can definitely have children if you have the same blood type. The only blood related issue you may have is if you are RH negative and FH is RH positive, you can have some complications. The majority of people are positive and it’s only an issue if the woman is negative. Even then, it’s not that big a deal anymore. You just have to have an injection every 12 weeks (not 100% on the time frame, don’t quote me).

If I had to have a blood test, I wouldn't be getting married!!

Of course you can get married if you have the same blood type.

The only time a problem might arise is that if you have a minus (-) after your blood type and your future baby is a (+). That means that there might be some complications during the pregnancy and delivery and any subsequent pregnancies. You'll find all this out when you decided to become preganant. Your blood type will be checked and if you are whatever blood type followed by a (-) you'll get a few shots to take care of it.

you know i do not know what blood type i am but i know exactly what blood type FH is haha....i wear his extra dog tags he gave me while he is away and it has his blood type on it so i know it now

maybe i should find out what type i am

you can definitely have kids if you are the same blood type
i already know what i am so we are not taking any blood tests
