SWR: creams that diminish brown spots

SWR: creams that diminish brown spots

Anyone use any of the creams that say they lighten brown spots? I have some on my face, freckles caused by sun, and my shoulders that I'd like to lighten before the wedding. I am using a prescription cream my derm gave me samples of, but I do not think it's doing much, and I wondered if any of you are using anything that has worked. I think Olay Definity 'fights the things that age you most,' including brown spots and wrinkles, and there is another one by Olay that fights 'the seven signs of aging.' I don't just want to buy anything, so I'd love to know if any of you have used something that worked.

TIA!

i went to my derm and and to a plastic surgeon asking about this - they both told me i could get laser treatment - i think palomar laser was the name of one of them and there was another laser they suggested also - the laser breaks up the melanin and you can get really good results - i have freckles on the bridge of my nose and cheeks from too much sun exposure and i wanted to get rid of them - FH loves them because he says they remind him of gisele's freckles hahaha but i dont really like them - athey both told me if i go back in the sun the freckles are just going to come back again....both told me best thing to do is to avoid the sun and use sunscreen - i decided against having laser treatment - they both said there are creams but the bests results are through laser treatment so i didnt bother with any creams - let me know if you find a good one though!

There is a cream that I've used before that was prescribed by my dermatologist. I can't remember the name. I know it was expensive because my insurance didn't cover it all. I will find out the name when I go home and let you know. It worked really well and almost got rid of my brown spots totally. I stopped using it after a while because it made my skin really dry but it got rid of the spots.

I have used tazorac for my psoriasis ... I am sure I still have some (it did nothing for my P), but I am not sure I can use it on my face. Thanks though, I am seeing him tonight and I will ask him. Maybe I will use it on my shoulder to see what it does.

Murad makes a really great fading cream:

and I have a lot of freckles since I have fair skin and grew up in Vegas in the sun!!! I also got a prescription from my dermatologist. I will check the name of it when I get home. It really dried out my skin though.

Thanks. I bookmarked that. The sample I have at home starts with an A, and it has hydroquonine in it like this murad product ... but it doesn't dry my skin at all. Just not sure it's working. I put it all over my face, not just on the brown spots, is that the right way to use it??
