Has anyone ever been or stayed there? I am thinking about bookeing our wedding night there but they are pricey. I would upgrade to one of their suites but the pkg includes THE CLASSIC ELEGANCE PACKAGE The modern luxury getaway that's full of old-world charm. * Chilled champagne upon arrival * One night's lodging in a room filled with fine antiques and that New England charm * Sumptuous four course dinner for two at 25 East American Bistro Restaurant * Full breakfast when you awake * Late checkout * Starting at $329.00 * Per couple, per night, based on double occupancy * Tax & gratuities not included
$479.00 (grat not included)
Worth it? OR I can stay at the Marriott in Islandia in an executive suite for $249.95 but that doesnt include anything..... Please help me ladies! Im running out of time

Re: SWR-Danfords in Pt. Jeff
We've blocked some rooms for our wedding there, and we'll probably just take a king room for ourselves - even if I decided to get ready there or something, we wouldn't be getting back there until 12 at the earliest. I can't see spending that much money when we can just book a king room for the blocked price of $189, given that we live 25 minutes away.

I live a block away.... It is a lot more fun to be able to walk outside, and stand on a balcony overlooking the harbor than to be in islandia.... and the suites are aparently amazing.
Conversely, yeah, it's a lot of $$$. If you don't intend to go home, I'd totally go to either danfords, or maybe a B&B in port jeff.... there are several which cost under $280 a night... just google LI B&B's....

Is it nice there? Does the pkg I mentioned sound good?

If you want a regular room, just make sure you ask for one in the main building. They have several buildings, and the others aren't nearly as nice as the main hotel building....

we did a room block there and the guest rooms were $189, and we are staying there also but it was like $229 or something like that for a suite room with a balcony overlooking the water, much less than what you priced, but then again I am not sure all the stuff you listed we are getting.

Did you call to see if they have available rooms? I wanted to stay there on our wedding night because that's where FH proposed but they don't have any suites available. We booked the last of the 8 rooms available for July 7th and they have a 2 night minimum. We would have had to pay SO much money so I figured it wasn't worth it. I'm disappointed though.

Re: SWR-Danfords in Pt. Jeff
we blocked our rooms here and stayed here on our wedding night as well... i made a reservation for a regular room, but when i checked in we had a suite with a balcony... it was really nice and the balcony over looked the water... but honestly, we had a sat night wedding and got back there late... we passed out... not enough time to enjoy the room... when we went to check out they tried to charge me the higher rate, and said that i reserved the suite... i definitely didnt, so they fixed it and charged us the regular rate... honestly, it was nice, but since we were there for such a little amount of time, i dont think it would have been worth the money...

I'm so upset, but as of right now they do not serve fondue anymore But let me tell you, those summer nights of fondue and wine at Toast were really delicious

well, it's all for the best... it's not good to be a 1/2 block from a giant volcano of cheese lava....
I actually (unfortunately) make a mean fondue myself.... but I try not to remind myself of that...

For those of you that have blocked rooms there - do they provide a shuttle service? IF so, how much was it? Thanks.

Re: SWR-Danfords in Pt. Jeff
They didn't say anything to me about a shuttle service. They're way off of the LIE, and actually quite a distance from Port Jeff Station. There's always tons of taxis lined up at the station though.
