SWR- how long does it take to get to Orient Point?
We are going to Mohegan Sun for my BP tomorrow. We are planning on taking the 8am ferry from Orient point. My BM who is 'in charge' thinks that we can leave from her house in smithtowin at 6:15 and make it there in time. Keep in mind that the ferry is first come first serve, they don't take reservations. Is she crazy like I think she is or is her estimate of time accurate? Will we make it to the ferry in time?

Do a mapquest thing.. It tells you the timing too.
Keep in mind its a weekend and everyone heads out east.

I am from Smithtown and have a house in Orient. It takes about an hour and 20 minutes on a good day (no traffic). HTH!!

I used to live in Mattituck. I would definately leave not a minute after 6. Have a great time!!!!

I go to CT to see my friend and I live in West Islip it takes me about an hour with no traffic with traffic about 1 1/2 hours. I think 6:15 is fine

I have to go out to Orient Point tomorrow (for an event) and I am leaving at 6am from Islip, hoping to be out there by 7:30am.

i live in port jeff...and whenever we go there it takes a lil over an hour to get there! the line forms early as well...so id def get there early! we always got there 30 mins or so b4 the ferry left....parking can be a nightmare over there esp on a weekend!

I would definitely get there about 30 minutes early, bc you still need to check in at the dock, and if there is a long line, you won't get on the boat. I would leave no later than 6.
