SWR: My FH is SOO GREAT!!!

Okay, so I’m having a bad day here…worries with the job, missing the FH and just anxious in general. Impusively, I e-mail the FH and ask him to write me a story. Well, he did!! I put it below because I thought it was the cutest thing ever.

In case you were wondering:
Kermit the corgi=Kirby our corgi
Catherine=me
Karol=FH, Carl

Kermit the Corgi

Once upon a time there was a woman named Catherine who owned a corgi named Kermit. If you've never seen a corgi you probably wouldn't believe your own eyes. How, you may ask, can it be that our good lord created a creature with such a long body and such tiny little stumpy legs? Well,
maybe he had a day off when the documents decreeing the design of the corgi came to his office and his secretary simply stamped it with God's signature. Or maybe humans were just so weak for cute little corgis that they bred them despite their obvious 'short'-comings. Either way, they sure were funny looking but irresistibly adorable. And this particular corgi's owner was irresistibly beautiful. Suitors flocked around her in
the little town where she and Kermit lived. Fortunately she had high standards and wouldn't settle for just anyone. Additionally, Kermit was
somewhat skeptical to anyone who wanted to get close to his mom as he loved her deeply and protected her in all situations.

One day the two were out for a walk in the countryside. It was a warm day, a real scorcher you might say. When they stumbled upon a stream, Kermit decided to take matters into his own paws and leaped in the cool water. Of course, corgis are excellent swimmers and Kermit swished back and forth in the stream, sometimes with only his huge ears sticking up
from under the water. Catherine smiled and decided to join her silly pup. So she stripped down to the bathing suit that she was fortunately
wearing underneath and got in the water. It certainly was refreshing! The two swam and enjoyed the break from the hot sun.

Cathering closed her eyes and let the water carry her a short distance downstream. She felt like one with nature, and Kermit was not far
behind, pulsing away with his inferior little stumps for legs. That's when he saw danger on the horizon! A large rock was sticking out of the
stream, something Catherine hadn't noticed. Kermit barked, but couldn't muster much force while tryign to swim and breathe at the same time. Catherine floated closer the rock and opened her eyes just in time to turn her head slightly and notice it. It was too late though, she hit it head first and came to rest on it, passed out. She had water up to her chest and Kermit realized (as dogs are able to do) that she would not be safe for long in that state. He also knew he had no means to save her on his own, given that he had such little stumpy legs. So he dashed out
of the water, not even bothering to shake the excess water off himself. He ran in one direction, hoping he would encounter someone who could help him and his beloved mom.

For what seemed like and eternity, he ran and ran, finally coming upon a wooden cabin. His eyes lit up and he dashed forth, starting to bark and scratch at the door. No one came to open it. He ran around the house, scratching and barking at windows. Still no reaction. He stopped for a
few seconds to catch his breath and try to figure out what to do next when he heard a loud snore coming from one of the windows. He barked
again and scratched some more, but the snoring persisted. Kermit became frustrated but was undaunted. He was getting help, and that was that. That's when he found the solution. A small hole in the side of the house should be just enough for him to squeeze through. True enough! Thanks to his shot legs and low ground clearance he was just able to squeeze
through. Who would've thought that his shortcoming would be his blessing? Well inside he approached the snoring character who turned out to be a blonde man. Kermit jumped up on him and barked in his face, biting his cheeks. The man woke up, flabbergasted and confused. He starred at the little dog that woke him up. Kermit ran around barking and it was obvious that he wanted something. The man opened the door and Kermit ran out, turning around and barking, then running again. The man
followed Kermit across the field, trying to keep up at his ferocious pace. He thought to himself that it was amazing that a dog with such tiny legs could run that fast.

When they reached the stream, Kermit was elated to find that Catherine's head was still over the surface of the water. The man caught up with
Kermit and saw Catherine laying in the stream. He didn't hesitate for a second and launched himself in the water and rescued her. Dragging her out of the stream the man tended to her head wound and contemplated giving her mouth to mouth. As he got closer though, Kermit growled under his breath, so he pulled back. Fortunately Catherine was breathing. Eventually she came too and caught the eyes of the stranger who helped save her life. Who are you? she uttered. My name is Karol, the stranger said and smiled, because he had never seen a woman as beautiful as Catherine. She was smitten too and no further words were needed. Kermit
however felt left out, so he approached his mother and started kissing her with his long icky tongue. Catherine laughed and wrestled with her dog.

And so beginneth a true love story of two strangers who were brought together by the skills and shortcomings of an odd little dog.

The End
