swr: my ring!
so my fh had my engagement ring custom made for me by one of our friends who was a jewelry design major while we were still in college. so i love it, it's amazing, and i get tons of compliments on it.
anyways, my friend calls fh today and tells him he recently got a job with david yurman who does a lot of designs for saks fifth avenue. (yay! great for him!) he goes on to say that after however long he's been working there, the guy comes up to him and goes - 'ok, so when are you going to do a remake of the lotus ring?' (my ring) they want to do a whole collection based on it! well, ben (my friend) said he's not remaking it, no way, it was a custom job and there's only gonna be one. which i'm glad about, but how cool is that? i know i didn't design it, but i had some say in it and my friend got this big complement on MY ring! heh. so he told the guy he'd do something in a similar vein (like flowers or something like that). but i just found the whole thing kinda neat. =0)
