FH and I are going to apply for passports tomorrow....I wanna make sure we have them in time for our honeymoon...I keep hearing horror stories of how it's taking sooooo long... So we'll be going to the post office tomorrow....
UPDATE: So we went to the post office yesterday to apply and we got turned away....I was sooo upset.... They told me that my pics weren't good enough because my head wasn't high enough for the form.....And because FH only has his permit, they needed 3 other forms of ID and he only had 2...=( So then we had to go back to Walgreen's and tell them I needed new pics because they screwed up, thank goodness the same guy was there..... So now we have to wait another couple of weeks because I won't be off on saturday for a while and FH works late during the week......It was soooo annoying but I guess it's best that they told me now rather then getting it back as rejected.... They also told me that there is a fee to change the name after getting married.... So we are back to square one....In time we'll get it done....

Yup- we applied last week. I figure if we don't get them by Jan., we still have 4 months to track em down.
It's one of those things you can get uot of the way now and don't have to worry about just before the wedding

I really dont want to pay the extra $$ to rush it.... i wonder if we have enough time to not worry about that...

they say its about 12 weeks with the delays

FH and I actually got our passports last year and they took quite a long time to come in. I think something like 2 months. And I believe theyre taking even longer now cause of the new laws that have been passed. And I would give yourself even more time then what you were origionally thinking, cause they make mistakes! I had to send mine back cause my birthday was wrong! Urghh...im glad we got that process over with!!

I was just thinking about this too....Not sure if we're going to expedite it....I will have to see what FH says.....If I know him, He'll say we have plenty of time....Just do it regular....LOL

I did, FH and I are going to a wedding in Wales in August. But i'm sure you'll get it in time if you do it now. it's an extra 60 bucks to have it expedited.

I applied for ours last summer.. and it only took 3 weeks.. even though they told me it would be longer..
It's definitely good to be prepared and order them ahead!!

i just went for my passport on wed. and they said i should have it by November. if i had it expidited i'd have it in 2 weeks, but it would also be $100 EXTRA. if your HM is in may after your wedding just order it soon and you should be ok.

i put my maiden name on it because im probably not going to cghange my name on my license and credit cards until i come back from HM

oh yeah there is something going on with the state department that is holding everything up. our friends wedding was last weekend and they didn't get their passports for Fiji till two days before the wedding. They even contacted their local congressman. Thank god it showed up. I would recommend all you girls to get it now. Its scarey.
