SWR - Vegas

Well, Vegas bound we are. The 8-ball team won the tournament this past weekend and so we are going to play in the National Amateur Team Championship Tournament the week of August 20. Unfortunately, the 9-ball team didn't do nearly as well, as we lost in the first round.

First, I know I should be excited that the team won, and that we are going . . . but, I HATE Vegas, and FH doesn't even have enough vacation time for the HM, we have no idea how he'll get an extra week for this trip, and we get home exactly 6 weeks before the wedding - which translates into us being OOT the entire 7th week before our wedding, and since we're paying for the wedding, spare cash to spend a week OOT is NOT something we have.

Someone please convince me that being out of NY for a week with FH that close to the wedding is a good thing.

Edit to add: One of my OOT BM's will be in NY the weekend we come home. I haven't seen her since December, and was looking forward to hanging out, but now that's out! And I thought that weekend was going to be my shower because she was in town, but my sister told me I don't have to change any flights (either headed out, or coming home).

Congrats on the win Darlene!!! Even though I see your point about being out of town so soon before the wedding, maybe you can look at it as forced relaxation? I don't know. I'm reaching here but that's the only thing I can think of.
