SWR Vent: Is my new last name THAT difficult?

Ok last week I switched to DH's dentist and filled out paperwork Jean Maiden Name Married Name since that IS my legal last name now. They were calling me Jean Married Name and that was fine.

I had to go back today for some more work and signed in Jean Maiden Married ---well they didn't realized I was there they said since they didn't know that Jean Maiden Married was the same person as Jean Married---HUH? Are you that stupid?

After over an hour of drilling in my tiny mouth I get home and DH looks at the bill- it says Jean Married- Maiden on it!!! After I already had to write out how my name should be for then.

I call them back and they say we know we fixed it, and I tell them and they realized no they were wrong again.

UGH...Maybe I should have just changed my name BUT I am so happy with what I did until stupid people piss me off.

I went from having a last name that was so easy to spell ( one of the 4 seasons) to one no one can spell (even if you spell it) or say.
I can sympathize

I have had tons of problems with this name change since I did the same thing as you. I hate that no one uses my maiden name at all even though that's how I sign it. Its soooo frustrating!

There is one positive though- I got a check in my maiden name and since my DL said Maiden and then married name they let me cash it.

Yes, people tend to just eliminate it completely and it PISSES me off. If I wanted to eliminate it I would have changed it. I do like that I can use both or either though.

people are just plain ignorant
