So, I have been on the smallest dosage of Xanax for years now - only on an as-needed basis. With the nonsense going on between my MOH and FSIL lately, I am taking the max daily dose of 2 per day (every 12 hours) but it is just not cutting it.
Do you think I can attempt to take 2? I am just afraid it's going to knock me out. Should I make a doc appt and see if there's another drug out there that may work better?
I am not functioning real well lately

I would speak to a doctor first. Maybe there's something a little stronger or will help better.

I would really consult your doctor about it. I know people who have anxiety that have taken the 2 with no harm, if you've been on it for a while you kind of grow a tolerance for it. But it could be different for everyone. Def. speak to your doctor. They would be the best person to help you right now. I know how you feel...

I havent tried Zoloft but I am on Effexor for a few years now. It's considered an anti-depressant I think, but it's also for like OCD types of things too.

I havent tried Zoloft but I am on Effexor for a few years now. It's considered an anti-depressant I think, but it's also for like OCD types of things too.
i asked b/c i know someone on zoloft and recently found out it is prescribed for anxiety too..you learn something new every day.
def talk to the dr about changing though since its not working. idk if i would just up a dose on your own, ya know.

Def. talk to your doc first. Xanax is a narcotic and is considered that because it can become addictive.

talk to your DR . i would switch to klonapin if you could . it works SO much better then xanax, your body is used to it

xanax starts at0.25 I believe and goes up to 2mg I believe as a single dose. I would def talk to your doc .

Yeah I am on the 0.25 pills right now but like I said, I think I have grown immune or something LOL!

I have .25 mg that I use when I fly. SOmetimes I take 2........but I dont take them on a daily basis. Good luck at your dr. appt!

I was on the .25 for a while ( only taken when needed) but then i got so used to it that now i've upgraded to .50. However, that ones makes me go to sleep, but at least it works!
