even in that general area...can anyone think of a italian resturant..pizza/italian place is fine if it has a private dinning area that we can have. Nothing over the top but not a pizza hut!! :) Still something nice for 35 ppl or so. We looked into Christianos over that way....food was sooo good but im nervous about the service, it was just soooo bad!!!

I had mine at La Viola in Syosset. A little $$$ but it is family style so that helps cut down on costs. I also love Mim's (but I don't think they have a private room). Testarosa is excellent also, but a little $$$ as well. Good luck!

What about Plainview? We're having ours in our OOT guest hotel in the Plainview Marriott Residence Inn restaurant, Baldino's. I've gone there just for dinner before. SOOOOO good!!! And the ambiance is WONDERFUL! The food and service are TOPS! Plus there's a bar to hang out at afterwards... not to mention a gameroom, arcade, pool table, etc. The restaurant has a HUGE, beautiful fish tank in it. Just gorgeous. We're paying 40pp for the sit-down dinner, plus beer, wine and soda. (which we're getting because it's our OOT guest hotel, too).
