Re: The pill...

I've been on the pill for almost 7 years now so I can't really help, but I would suggest discussing it with your ob/gyn because she can help get your cycle on track especially if you only want to do it temporarily.

Definitely talk to your doctor. They would know best.

Re: The pill...

I have never been able to take the pill because it makes me queasy and I vomit. I was willing to try it again so I wouldn't have my period on my wedding day but I got sick again and couldn't continue with it. I ended up getting my period 4 days before the wedding which I would rather have than feeling sick on my wedding day.

Sorry I was no help.

I have thought about it but I get to nervous about the risk of blood clots lol everytime time my legs are sore or I have a twinge of pain I will be freaking out. I'm currently just keeping my fingers crossed that I won't have my period lol

I went on a year before... as it takes time for your body to adjust and get on a 'schedule'... and by the time the wedding and honeymoon come around.. .i'll be able to do what i need to do..

Definately talk to you Doctor though!

i've been on it for years...

i actually did the 'math' and realized i would have my period on my honeymoon, so i asked my Dr. if it was safe for me to skip a month or two so i would be on a cycle where i wouldn't have it, and she gave me the go-ahead.

talk to your gyno about it.

Re: The pill...

I've been on the pill well off and on since 15 and I'm now almost 27! never had any problems. it actually eases my cramps which I love. I went off the pill a few years ago and had the worst cramps ever every month. I only went off it then because of well just a big situation with my ex at the time. (he had my car 24/7 and I couldn't get to a dr)

I swear by it though. I love not having to worry about anything well babywise lol. also I have the shortest and lightest periods.

though at one point some generic pill I was given made me have crazy mood swings and I really mean crazy lol. I stopped taking the pill until I was able to get the original real pill of it. the generic was actually taken off the market and has a big law suit against it! I wasn't the only girl to literally go nuts with mood swings.

I always think my legs hurting or anything means blood clots! lol. I think it's only a really high risk if you smoke and I don't so I hope I'm safe.

Re: The pill...

It takes atleast 3 months to regualte on the pill...So the sooner you can start the better. Also it gives you time to play with your cycle. If your due for period at the time of your wedding you can change that. Im a nurse at an OB/GYN and woman call all the time but its usually the month they are getting married and there no guarentee that soon.

Re: The pill...

I've been on it for years. It can take a long time to find one that works well for you though. I started on ortho tri cyclen (there was no low hormone at that time) and it made me have crazy mood swings. I switched to ortho cyclen but only for one cycle (I broke up w my bf then and didn't really need it anymore plus I kept forgetting). I was on yasmin for a while (I think it's Yaz now?) then I tried nuva ring, and now I use Jolessa (which is a generic of seasonale which they no longer have and the brand name is now seasonique). I've had no blood clots, but I never smoked and I'm under 30. And since starting this last one, I haven't had any intense migraines, which I used to get about every 3 months.
