table arrangement ques?

Did anyone do a table of 14? Our RH hall said minimum 10-12 at a table, before I ask them, figured I'd ask you guys if 14 pushing it? Four of the guests are ages 11-15.

our RH said that most tables are 10-12 also, but I'm pretty sure we're going to to do like two tables of 14. I figure, people won't be sitting at the table for that long anyway (the people I'm putting at the 14 person tables are young people like college friends) so they won't mind and will just be happy to be sitting with people they like.

That's what I figure. Thanks! What about smaller than 10? We have two 9s that would be weird to throw in a random. Anyone have this?

I say you gotta do what you gotta do!

Our hall has a couple of larger tables to accommodate a table of 12-14, but if they didn't and that was how the tables fell, I'd say go for it.

Better to do it with the young'ins than the old fogies who might not leave their seats all night anyway.

14 is tight! We went to a wedding and b/c they had so many last minute people to show up they squished our table and it was hard to eat and get up b/c you had to push your chair all the way out to get up.

If you can pull it I would definitely try and only do 12, maybe 13 at the most

if the table seats 10-12, that really means 10. 12 seems obnoxiously tight especially if anyone has broad shoulders or is on the bigger side. What your RH might be able to do is bring in a special table (typically an oval or something) and these usually hold 12-14.

I think 10 is the right #. Don't put much more than that. Our tables are ovals and narrow to boot, and so they fit 8-10. We'll have to put 10 at each, but I don't think it would be conformable above that. Depending on how small the kids are, you might be able to work something out (like 12 kids instead of 10 adults), but I don't think I'd go above 10.
